Martingale collars are ideal for breeds with slim necks and narrow heads, offering gentle control. When fitted correctly, they tighten slightly to prevent escape while remaining comfortable and secure. 
 
How Martingale Collars Work
A martingale collar has two loops: The main loop that sits around the neck. The control loop that gently tightens when tension is applied.
 
This design prevents sighthounds from slipping out while avoiding the choking risk of a full slip collar.
 
How to Fit a Martingale Collar
1. Slip the collar over your dog’s head
Fully extend the collar and gently slide it over the widest part of the head.
If it’s difficult to get on, you may need the next size up.
 
2. Position the collar correctly
The main loop should sit around the middle of the neck, not too high and not too low.
 
3. Adjust the fit
Tighten the collar so that the collar sits snug. 
 
4. Check the safety gap
The metal hardware on the control loop should never touch or meet when the collar tightens.
 
If the metal parts meet, the collar is too loose and may not function safely, you might need to tighten the collar more, or size down.
